Thanksgiving lunch

It was a great pleasure to have lunch with both kids as they celebrated Thanksgiving at school. Alicia dressed like a pilgrim and she took my breath away. She takes my breath away every day! She is beautiful.

B-day pics

This past weekend 24 of our best friends and their kids rented cabins in the Hill Country to celebrate Alicia's sixth birthday. We always celebrate her birthday the first week in December so it doesn't get overshadowed with all the Christmas activities. We had such a great time. It felt like a family reunion. We are so blessed and fortunate to have such good friends. They are our family here in TX. However, never in a million years would I, a pretty liberal mom, have dreamed I would have a boot wearing, gun toting daughter. Dawn just loves it!

Free Dog!

America's favorite dog is the Golden Retriever and we just happen to have one up for adoption. Her name is Jolie Blonde and she is a wonderful dog who does not smell horribly and she absolutely NEVER takes dirty diapers out of the trash and rips them to shreds on the carpet. She would be a lovely addition to your family. Please leave a comment if you would like to adopt her.

Just kidding, maybe.

And this too shall pass!

Well the honeymoon is over. Carmen screamed for about 2-2.5 hours last night. She is gassy around 9:00-10:00 at night. She reminds me of Aquiles and if you were ever around for that then you have much pity for me and Jamie. Just kidding (kind of). I count my blessings and our kids are awesome.

Carmen is home!

Carmen came home today! We went to the hospital to feed her and she was able to leave with us. Luckily we had the car seat and diaper bag with us just in case! She is a great baby. She eats well and is on a good schedule. Let's hope it lasts!

Oh, and Alicia has a loose tooth. She is incredibly happy and would like the world to know.

Carmen update

Carmen has still not made it home. Her billirubins are too high, but we are remaining hopeful. We did take photos of her today and have created a slideshow so you can see what she looks like.

Here are some of the first pictures of Carmen. She arrived on Nov 21st. She is still in the hospital with jaundice, but we expect to bring her home soon. As you can tell she is a big baby! 8 lbs 12 ozs.

maternity leave with no baby!

Carmen has yet to arrive but it feels like she is about to pop out of my skin! I am imagining the scene in Alien; you know which one I am talking about. I would be grateful for that right now. My due date is tomorrow and if nothing happens, I will see the doctor Thursday. I am taking advantage of the time and have read 2 books and had lunch with the kids. Pam, Clyde and my mom are in town and Jamie has all of next week off.

I now have a facebook account but have done nothing with it. I opened it to be able to check out other friend's pages. Therefore, don't expect much. Honestly when I went to other people's pages, I found it kind of confusing. I am obviously sadly behind in technology.

Thanks to all our friends for throwing us a fabulous baby shower! This was the cake we had at Brent and Dana's. Kandi also hosted a church shower at her house a week after this one. They were both fun and wonderful. Thanks to all our great friends for spoiling us rotten.

No, we were not able to get 38 candles on the cake!

Alicia won prizes for her throw at the pumpkin toss during our church's pumpkin olympics. Jamie won a $35 Wal-Mart gift certificate. Scott is still pouting, so we had him over for compensatory dinner.
